    Kafka's house is located near the Church of St. Nicholas near the Old Town Square. It is symbolically associated with the important literature of the 20th century by the author Franz Kafka himself, who was born in 1883 in the former prelature of the Benedictine monastery near the church of St. Nicholas.

    PURE FUNCTIONALITY

    Berker and Bauhaus are not only the same age (both were founded in 1919), but they also share the same passion for pure shapes and functionality.. Both qualities enthral clients and planners, even today. And, because of this, the unique, Bauhaus-inspired Berker Serie 1930 can be found not only in timeless, classic buildings like Villa Tugendhat, but also in trendy properties, such as the Hotel "Soho" and "25hrs Bikini" in Berlin.

     

     

    The new interior design of the house gravitates towards the very elegance of the building structure. The fantasy surrounding Franz Kafka penetrates the historical patina and the contrasts between life and death. The atmosphere of the 2nd, 3rd and 4th floors is based on a combination of bright and shadowy spaces. The basic colors are light gray and white, which are contrasted with tones of red and purple. The selection of furniture balances on the edge between the past and the modern. The simple construction is made of quality basic materials such as metal and wood.

    An important part of the entire reconstruction are the attic apartments, specific for their fully open spaces. Historic wooden beams play with modern glass elements and custom built-in furniture. The newly renovated interiors of the Kafka House combine classic and modern elements, delicacy with decadence, splendor and coziness. At the same time, it was possible to transform the atmosphere of Kafka's time into a reflection of the handmade tiles, just as it breathes on you from the shadows of the building itself.
